Just getting started...

Two months to go until I head out to Israel...with its many titles ( promised land, holy land, zion) I am having trouble imagining what it will be like . I have done a little research from a tour guide book that was written in the 90s and a film called "A Case for Israel". Doing this research is helping me to sober up to the fact that I will be in a country where I can make all these realizations on my own and form my own opinions. So far I have only been decoding information that has been displayed through a biased lens. Anyway I need to get to learning some Hebrew. My attempts to learn the alphabet...errr aleph-bet has been feeble. Also, need to head over to the Israeli consulate and make sure I can get a student visa/not get drafted into the Israeli army....and where is that f%#$ing passport!
